The Pewaukee School District is excited to introduce its annual, staff recognition event this year, May 14th. The Open Door Awards is an opportunity to recognize staff, students, and community who assists with our mission to "open the door to each child's future."
Silver Key awards will be presented to recognize Pewaukee staff, alumni and community partners. The event will be held at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center and live-streamed simultaneously to the Pewaukee School District Youtube page.

OUTSTANDING
SUPPORT AWARD
Recognition of outstanding performance of staff serving in support roles including paraprofessionals, aides, School Resource Officers, learning coaches, and other specialists.
ELIGIBILITY:
All staff working in a support oriented role. (2 Awarded)
CRITERIA:
Nominees provide outstanding support for students, staff, families, and/or members of the community. These individuals demonstrate passion for their work, maintain high personal expectations, show initiative, and demonstrate a consistent willingness to be flexible and accommodating as
challenges arise.

OUTSTANDING
SERVICE AWARD
Recognition of outstanding performance and customer service for staff working in support roles which may include school office or district office staff, bus drivers, maintenance and custodial staff, food service, and other roles. This may include serving students, families, staff and/or members of the community.
ELIGIBILITY:
All staff working in a support oriented role. (2 Awarded)
CRITERIA: Nominees demonstrate a high level of professionalism, dedication and commitment to ensuring that school and/or district operations run effectively. These individuals consistently strive to ensure that all stakeholders (students, staff, families, volunteers, community) receive excellent service and communication.

ELIGIBILITY: All staff. (2 Awarded)
CRITERIA: Nominees demonstrate initiative and creativity to improve organizational performance and/or the student learning experience. This may result in new or improved programs, curricular experiences, or practices.
COMPETE AWARDS
Strive to maximize performance by applying acquired information and skills. (Knowledge) (Critical Thinking) (Literacy)

OUTSTANDING
LEADERSHIP AWARD
Recognition of outstanding leadership resulting in moving a group to a notable achievement or improved performance
ELIGIBILITY: All staff providing leadership. Does not require the individual to serve in a formal position of leadership. (1 Awarded)
CRITERIA: Nominees provide effective and substantive leadership to move a group toward notable improvement or achievement of an important goal. This may include measurable results and/or bringing clear value to stakeholders or the organization.

PERFORMANCE AWARD
Recognition of outstanding achievement which may include substantial professional accomplishment, athletics or club accomplishment, or results in student performance
ELIGIBILITY: All staff. (2 Awarded)
CRITERIA: Nominees demonstrate a high level of success in the profession, area of responsibility, sport or activity.

PARTNERSHIP
AWARD
Recognition of staff and community or business partners that enhance the learning, experience, and opportunities for students.
ELIGIBILITY: Staff member(s) and/or external partner (individual or organization) working in partnership to provide opportunities, experiences
and/or resources that the district could not provide or offer to the same level of quality. (1 Awarded)
CRITERIA: Nominees demonstrate significant commitment to one or more of our schools or our school district. The partner’s support may include some or all of the following; contributions of time (volunteer), services, expertise, product, or monetary donations. This partner seeks new ways to meet the needs of our students, staff and schools, and has expanded its relationship with the District over time.

Recognition of outstanding teamwork represents the ability to work collaboratively and positively to impact students, staff and the organizational culture.

They are committed to the success of each child, are professional and prepared for each day, respected by peers and colleagues, model strong teaching and learning practices, and inspire students to achieve their potential.

ELEMENTARY
TEACHER OF THE YEAR

All HZ Staff. (1 Awarded)
CRITERIA: Nominees build positive and impactful student and family relationships leading to success in the classroom. They are committed to the success of each child, are professional and prepared for each day, respected by peers and colleagues, model strong teaching and learning practices, and inspire students to achieve their potential.

ASA CLARK
MIDDLE SCHOOL
TEACHER OF THE YEAR
Recognition of outstanding teaching performance.
ELIGIBILITY:
All ACMS Staff. (1 Awarded)
CRITERIA: Nominees build positive and impactful student and family relationships leading to success in the classroom. They are committed to the success of each child, are professional and prepared for each day, respected by peers and colleagues, model strong teaching and learning practices, and inspire students to achieve their potential.

NEW TEACHER
OF THE YEAR
Recognition of outstanding teaching performance of a new to the district and/early profession educator.
ELIGIBILITY:
All teachers in their first 2 years in PSD AND first 5 years in the profession. (1 Awarded)
CRITERIA: Nominees demonstrate a high level of passion and commitment to serving the needs of each child. Nominees demonstrate a high level of talent and instructional practice beyond their years of experience.

SCHOOL
TEACHER OF THE YEAR
Recognition of outstanding teaching performance.
ELIGIBILITY:
All PHS Staff. (1 Awarded)
CRITERIA: Nominees build positive and impactful student and family relationships leading to success in the classroom. They are committed to the success of each child, are professional and prepared for each day, respected by peers and colleagues, model strong teaching and learning practices, and inspire students to achieve their potential.

OUTSTANDING SUBSTITUTE TEACHER
Recognition of outstanding teaching performance of a substitute educator.
ELIGIBILITY:
All substitute teachers serving the district in the current school year. (1 Awarded)
CRITERIA: Nominees demonstrate a high level of consistent reliability, positive relationships with students and staff, and an ability to effectively manage the classroom and implement the learning plans put in place.

STUDENT SERVICES
PROFESSIONAL AWARD
Recognition of outstanding service and support of students by professionals working in a student services role including counselors, psychologists, social work, School Resource Officers (SRO), case managers, therapists, or other related roles.
ELIGIBILITY:
All Student Services staff.
(1 Awarded)
CRITERIA: Nominees demonstrate an outstanding level of commitment and empathy for students. Nominees are highly skilled, communicate effectively, and work as strong partners with families and staff to provide a high level of student support.

CARE CHAMPION
AWARD
Recognition of an individual or team working to provide a high level of care and support for students, staff, families, or groups in the community.
ELIGIBILITY:
All staff (1 Awarded)
CRITERIA: Nominees are recognized as strong advocates for supporting the social, emotional, and wellness needs of students, staff, families, or groups in the community. The CARE Champion may lead initiatives that develop enhanced programs or resources for groups in need.
